Rhode Island Pagan Pride

Please allow us to re-introduce ourselves…
Hello there. If by chance you attended our 2007 Pagan Pride Day we hope you had a wonderful day. We hope you noticed and paid attention to how much effort was put into ensuring that the biggest-little state had its most successful festival ever. We're very proud of that accomplishment. We are even prouder to say that five of the core members of our 2007 group are still along for the 2008 ride. Three members, including our previous local coordinator, have gone on to other projects and we wish them much luck.

Now for the big news: Last year would never have been what it was without the stellar drive of our vendor coordinator Jane Driscoll. We could not be more excited to announce that Ms. Driscoll is now our new local coordinator, a job that she will no doubt take to all new dizzying heights. Jane will continue as the vendor coordinator for 2008. She shares her position with newcomer John Silva who brings an amazing energy to the project. John will be coordinating workshops for us. Still with us are secretary extraordinaire and volunteer coordinator Dayna; Cat and Eve Tyrson, who will artfully handle publicity and web design respectively and who will be specifically in charge of our new pagan out-reach program making sure that every path has a voice. Now that you mention it… that's the point of the Pagan Pride Project.

* Yes, this year's festival will have vendors.
* We'll also be offering much more diverse music.
* Of course there will be a ritual, (but this year's is going to be different).
* Food? Yes.

Everything you enjoyed last year you will be able to enjoy again in 2008. But there will be more of an emphasis on inclusion: of different paths, different music, and different workshops. Everything we do may not appeal to everyone … but we hope that everyone will find something that appeals to them at PPD '08.

We're just going to ask you to do a little bit of work. Because PPD '08 is about Community. We want your input. We'll be giving you a chance to participate in the following ways:
* We want you to suggest the music.
* Tell us what workshops you want.
* Attend our next Town Meeting, June ? to be announced,  6:30 p.m., Barnes and Nobles, 1350 Bald Hill Road, Warwick, RI.
* Participate in our contests such as "Design Our Logo"
  (Congrats to Gretchen by the way, who did an absolutly beautiful job to win our logo contest!)

This site is still a work in progress. As we make decisions, have events to announce or merchants sign on we will be updating the web site. Come back and visit often.

Please be sure and shop with our merchants. They have stood by us during this transition time and we deeply appreciate and value their support. Please help us by supporting them.

Thanks for visiting and we hope to see you at our events!
